TOM DI College Preseason Wrestling Rankings 09.07.2011

Welcome to TOM’s first ranking of the 2011-12 season. Comments are welcome and we hope you enjoy. Team Rankings are at the end of the Individual Rankings.

Also, we appreciate the feedback, but keep it civil. We miss things and it is not intentional. Bring it to our attention and we will take it into consideration for the next week. Make sure you visit our forums for discussion and banter.

These are our preseason rankings for the upcoming season. We have omitted true freshman. They will be added once the season starts and we see where they stand. Also, if we have some info wrong or if you feel we are incorrect on things such as redshirts, etc.. and you have clear proof that states such, please let us know. Note unless someone has told us that a wrestler is redshirting we left them in the rankings.

  1. Feel free to discuss at the college message board, forum dot theopenmat dot com

  2. Trice of CMU is taking an Oly RS. There is also a good chance of Sentes taking a RS. Once I hear from the source I will let Willie know.

  3. Just wondering why Yohn and Toal are ahead of Sorenson from ISU at 165, as Sorenson beat them both last year before the injury…

  4. Based on the full season last year and limited matches for Sorenson. Remember these are just preseason, once wrestling starts we are sure these will all chance rather fast.

  5. what happened to byers transfer to iowa, noticed he is not on iowas roster

  6. He is at Okie State

  7. What do u think about PSU at 125?Is it gonna be megaludis?

  8. Yes it will be Megaludis

  9. Ethan Headlee beat Bekzod twice last year and donnie Jones. 3x ncaa qualifier. How is he not ranked in the top 10?

  10. Ben Bennett is at 174#

  11. Sanjaa of American will be wrestling 157 this season

  12. Really awesome job!!!

  13. Last year, Steinhaus beat Gambrall two out of three times. Plus Steinhaus is only a sophomore now so you would think if anything he will improve. How come Gambrall is 3 and Steinhaus 7?

  14. Brad, these are pre season rankings, just like every other year they start with returning all-americans. This is just how it is done.

  15. Is Storley going to be starting at 174 for the Gophers? And how does Deitchler’s health look with the concussions?

  16. 10 bucks say Ryaks right up there with Patterson and Mango!

  17. Not sure on storely, I hope they wrestle him. Jake is wrestling and the plan thus far is for him to be on the mat this year.

  18. 7 top HWT.s in the Big 10 and 2-3 of them might not start . Iowa , MSU and Michigan may start Andrus over Apland . Life in the big 10 never gets any easier .

  19. Gabriel Burak has eligibility and is at Northern Colorado. He was in the round of 12 at last year’s NCAA Championship. Also Casey Cruz of UNC went 1-2 at NCAA’s beating Thome 5-0 and losing to Long 8-1 and Carter 7-5.

  20. Ben these will be changed once the real season starts, these are just pre-season.
