OhioState_LogoCOLUMBUS, Ohio – Lance Palmer, a senior tri-captain on the fourth-ranked Ohio State wrestling team, was named Big Ten co-Wrestler of the Week the conference announced Tuesday. It is Palmer’s first-career conference weekly honor.

This past Sunday, Palmer, third in the latest InterMat standings, defeated No. 5 Frank Molinaro of Penn State in the Buckeyes’ 21-14 win over the 13th-ranked Nittany Lions. The win was the 149-pounder’s third over a Top 10 opponent and fourth against a Top 20 wrestler.

The Buckeye from Columbia Station, Ohio, used a takedown and a reversal, as well as 1:28 riding time, to secure the 5-3 victory en route to handing Molinaro just his second loss of the season.

Ohio State will travel to Purdue and Indiana Friday and Sunday, respectively. The Buckeyes and Boilermakers will wrestle at 7 p.m. in Holloway Gymnasium. The match will air on the Big Ten Network on same-day tape delay at 11 p.m. ET. The Scarlet and Gray and Hoosiers will face each other at 2 p.m. in University Gymnasium.
