TOM’s Individual High School Rankings – 03.03.10
Mar 3rd, 2010 | By viratas | Category: HS Individual Rankings, Open Mat Originals
Closing in on season’s end, the rankings are starting to take on a hint of finality. With most state championships (and National Preps) now complete, there have been few upsets. But that’s why these kids are ranked as the Top 20 in the country; they’re expected to win.
Big state tournaments still loom this weekend, as power states Ohio, California, and New Jersey, and Minnesota crown their champions.
We’ll update regularly (weekly), so check back often for updates as the season plays out.
TOM’s Individual Rankings will continue to include the year’s seniors until one week after NHSCA Class Nationals (Virginia Beach).
We’re sure, like any rankings, there will be some derision and debate. So feel free to discuss it on our forums, or drop us an email. (We are the ‘open’ mat for a reason!)
* –indicates past weeks results
103 –Some surprises here as a couple ranked kids suffered losses in their state qualifiers. DiCamillo went down as did Tyson Dippery, who failed to qualify for the state tournament. The Fargo All-American was in the same district (3) as Conaway and Miller. Many of the Top 20 at 103 have yet to wrestle their championship tournaments. So while their movement reflects qualifying results, nothing is carved in stone yet.

Withh all due respect, there is NO WAY Bridson at 103 should be that low. He has dominated all year winning on of the toughest tournaments in the country (Beast). He rolled to a state title pinning his opponent in the finals in 42 seconds. His ONLY loss of the year was when he got caught in a bad position during a scramble and got called on a questionalbe pin call.
gotta check out davion willis, he beat Devin Peterson in the state finals in Wisconsin this past weekend
Is carter #3 at 125 originally from high point, nj ? If so they would of had one hell of a team.
yes, carter is originally from high point
Quite a few Minnesota wrestlers should be ranked on here that aren’t. Zak Coates from Henry Sibley beat Jake Waste twice this season, once at the Forest Lake Duals in the championship duals back in January, and the second was in the state championship.
Also, Ben Morgan from Forest Lake was beat by Mason Young from Henry Sibley twice. Once at the Forest Lake Duals, and the second came in the quarterfinals of the State Meet.
Just some suggestions. Something to watch for.
