U.S. places sixth at Freestyle World Cup

USAW_logoMOSCOW, Russia – The United States went 0-2 on Sunday, to place sixth as a team at the Freestyle World Cup.

In its final Pool B match, Azerbaijan defeated the United States, 5-2. The loss gave the USA a 1-2 record in its pool, and qualified the team for the fifth-place match.

In the medal round, Belarus defeated the United States, 5-2, giving Belarus fifth place and the United States sixth place in the final standings. The U.S. completed the 2010 World Cup with a 1-3 record.

Host Russia won the World Cup, defeating Iran in the finals, 5-2. Azerbaijan won the third-place match over Ukraine, 5-2. Turkey placed seventh, defeating Uzbekistan, 7-0.
