TOMs National Individual High School Wrestling Rankings – 5.26.10

Many ranked wrestlers competed in this week’s USAW Regional Championships; the Central Regional in Franklin, IN. State tournaments this week included Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Minnesota, Colorado, and Texas. California held their state Greco tournament.

This weekend features a ton of top talent at the NHSCA Duals in Virginia Beach, along with the second to last USAW FS/GR regional tournament; the SouthEast Regional in Duluth, GA. Some elite high schoolers will also be in Colorado Springs for the Junior World Team Trials.

It should be of note that in a state like Pennsylvania or Illinois, the weight you wrestle at the state FS/GR tournament is the weight you must wrestle at Fargo. While other states allow some flexibility. In some cases, weights will still fluctuate, while in others, they will remain more static.

At this time of year, weight is intriguing as it pertains to rankings. We’ll do our best to identify what weight an individual is at, and use Fargo as our final benchmark.

It’s a hectic time of year, with results less accessible and weights constantly fluctuating. So, feel free to write in and drop us some knowledge.

Again, we know we are far from perfect, but we do our best to stay on top of things, there are a lot of wrestlers across the nation. If you feel we are overlooking someone or are unaware of them, please send us a bio and a RESPECTFUL note as to why they should be ranked. This does not mean we will rank them, but it will give us info to follow that wrestler. You can send info to rankings@theopenmat.com
