Tyler Fraley, who became Colts Neck High School’s first NJSIAA wrestling finalist last season, has transferred to prep school power Wyoming Seminary in Kingston, Pa., his father Chris said on Thursday.
“It wasn’t an easy decision,” Chris Fraley said, “but we think this is best for our son long-range. We’re trying to position him so he can succeed in life. We’re trying to get his academics in order and have him get another year of maturity.”
Chris Fraley said his son enrolled at Wyoming Seminary this week and began classes there on Tuesday. He also said Tyler will have two years of eligibility there in a school that does have post graduates. Wyoming Seminary is located about 50 miles from where Chris Fraley said he grew up in Munsey, Pa.
Fraley will be able to wrestle Wyoming Seminary’s complete schedule this year, including the prestigious season-opening Beast of the East Tournament at the University of Delaware, Chris Fraley said. He will not be able to wrestle in any Wyoming Seminary events that have public school wrestlers during the 2011-2012 season, Chris Fraley said.
