Where do we start?

In an unbelievably busy week on the recruiting front, at least 29 athletes gave commitments to DI wrestling programs, including a 14 that were ranked as one of our Top Prospects, and eight more that were listed as Honorable Mention in that report.

The latest came in late Sunday, when our #2 149lber, Nate Skonieczny pledged to the Iowa Hawkeyes.

Skonieczny had a great season, winning titles at Powerade, FloNationals, and the state tournament.

The Hawkeyes were the big winners of the week, grabbing three Top 4 targets. In addition to Skonieczny, Iowa also brings in #2-Thomas Gilman, and #4-Sam Brooks.

Lehigh also continued a strong class, grabbing #3-Brandon Griffin, to a class that already includes three other Top Prospects.

The trend of early commitments continues. Of the 100 Top Prospects (10 for each off the 10 weight classes), 57 have already verballed. Only one #1 remains, Jason Tsirtsis of Indiana, who sits atop the 141 rankings. And just seven wrestlers ranked in the Top 3 of their respective weight remain on the board.

Here’s the breakdown of 43 Top Prospects still available by weight:

125: (3) #8, #9, #10

133: (1) #6)

Tsirtsis is lone #1 still available

141: (5) #1, #2, #6, #7, #9

149: (4) #5, #7, #8, #10

174: (6) #3-#6, #9, #10

184: (3) #2, #9, #10
