Gwiz Follows Coaches to NC State

Last month the young and ultra-successful Pat Popolizio, then-Binghamton’s Head Coach coming off a two-All American performance at the NCAA’s in St. Louis, accepted the top job at North Carolina State.

Popolizio brought with him Frank Beasley, who has been instrumental in bringing top flight talent to each program he’s been at, which in addition to Binghamton, includes Buffalo and Bloomsburg.

On Monday, one of Popolizio’s prize pupils displayed his fidelity to this staff. Freshman All American, Nick Gwiazdowski (HWT) announced that he will follow Popolizio and Beasley to Raleigh.

One of the top recruits in the country last year, Gwiazdowski won FloNationals as a Jr. and Sr. Nationals in Virginia Beach.

As a true Freshman, he won a CAA conference title and placed 8th at the NCAA tournament. He was 30-9 on the season.

Gwiazdowski has informed the press that he intends on redshirting next season.
