AWN High School Wrestler & Team of the Week: Evan Fidelibus and Topeka Seaman High

Evan Fidelibus Fr. (Easton Area, Pa)
A dual meet between the Rovers of Easton and the Parkland Trojans, a wrestling hero emerged in freshman Evan Fidelibus. Fidelibus stunned the crowd by pinning Parkland’s Ethan Lizak, ranked No. 5 in the nation, to ignite the Rovers to a 30-27 come-from-behind victory over the Trojans in a Lehigh Valley Conference dual barnburner at Easton Area Middle School in Forks Township, Pa. Fidelibus trailed Lizak, the PIAA Class AAA state champ at 106 pounds last season, 2-1 after one period when he locked up a low-leg cradle, turned Lizak to his back and pinned him in 2:38. For this accomplishment, Evan Fidelibus is AWN’s Wrestler of the Week.

Topeka Seaman High, Topeka, Kansas
Currently ranked No. 4 in Kansas 5A by the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association. Topeka Seaman had an outstanding weekend by winning the Bobcat Classic tournament and placing ahead of AWN No. 19 and No. 29 teams, Collinsville (Okla.) and Blue Springs (Mo.). Led by 2012 state champion and All-Time wins leader, Bryant Guillen and seven other medalists, Seaman won the team title over Blue Springs 177.5-172 points. Topeka Seaman will be back in action January 17 when they take on Gardner-Edgerton High. Congratulations for being AWN team of the week.
