We're breaking down every weight class at the 2017 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championship set for next week in St. Louis.  We usually start our previews at 125, but this time around we thought we'd give the big fellas the first look and work our way down.  We'll start with some facts for reference, break down who can win the weight, who will contend for All-American honors, how this weight will effect the team race, and end with a little analysis for those of you participating in fantasy wrestling contests.  Enjoy and check back for 197 tomorrow!

Returning All-Americans

Kyle Snyder (Ohio State) – Champion in 2016, 2nd in 2015 at 197

Ty Walz (Virginia Tech) - 4th in 2016, 7th in 2015

Michael Kroells (Minnesota) - 7th in 2016, 8th in 2015

Connor Medbery (Wisconsin) - 4th in 2015

Who can win?

Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder (Ohio State) is the defending champion and prohibitive favorite despite the relatively close score of his Big 10 finals win over second-seeded Connor Medbery (Wisconsin). Medbery did score a late takedown against Snyder, but the match was in hand by then. Expect Snyder to finish yet another big tournament on the top step of the podium and expect him to put up a fair amount of bonus on his way through the bracket.
