Ninth-ranked Arizona State hits the road for a pair of duals against top three teams this weekend, starting with a visit to second-ranked Michigan Friday night at 7 pm eastern in TOM's NCAA Wrestling Dual of the Week. The match against the Wolverines will be held at Detroit Catholic Central High School which produced three of Michigan's current starters, Malik Amine (149), Myles Amine (174), and Kevin Beazley (197). With third-ranked Ohio State looming on Sunday, the Sun Devils will want to get their trip off on the right foot.
Michigan leads the all-time series against Arizona State 4-3, though the schools have not met since the 2005-06 season. That year the Wolverines handled the Sun Devils, 24-12, in the National Duals. In fact, the last three meetings between the two came at the National Duals. Only one of their past duals was on either school's campus when Michigan hosted a 28-11 win during the 1983-84 season. The teams have also wrestled at the Reno Tournament of Champions and at Ohio State.
As always with our Dual of the Week, we’ll break down each match-up, what each team needs to do to win, make our predictions, and have WrestleStat’s take on the dual as well.
