Keegan Shaw knows what he’s getting into next year.
The two-time state medalist from Southeast Polk has seen Iowa wrestling practices. He’s heard what they’re like from former high school teammates. He’s been prepped on what to expect by his uncle, Jessman Smith, a two-time All-American for the Hawkeyes.
“He’s told me the first two years or so are going to be real tough for me,” Shaw said. “If I can make it through that, I can be successful. He said you have to learn how to suffer, you have to embrace it.”
