Anthonie Linares finished second at Senior Nationals in December to Pat Smith up at 71 kg. He was also third at the Dave Schultz in January. However, Linares dropped to 66 kg for the World Team Trials, after initially being listed at his usual weight. It has paid off so far as Linares won his first match by tech fall to set up a semi-final showdown with Alejandro Sancho, who was third at last year’s Olympic Trials behind Smith and RaVaughn Perkins. TOM caught up with Linares earlier today.
