Do you know what really grinds my gears wrestling fans? I am sick and tired of the push to make folkstyle wrestling into Sumo. I do no care how much you scream and yell that a push-out rule will create more action on the edge of the mat. Saying that my dog Harley is a cat, does not suddenly make it a true statement. In fact, it just makes me look like either a liar, a fool, or some type of charlatan (I know that’s basically a liar, but I felt like ending the sentence poetically). The push-out is not good for wrestling!
Have you ever had to sit there through a near fall review or a second look at a controversial takedown? It is frustrating to the point of bordering on an Archer-esque rampage. With our current system can you imagine a pair of referees attempting to figure out a push-out? Who initiated it? Who went out first? Did the go all the way out? Was it an actual counter? The list goes on and on just like a replay review.
