Aaron Fry (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) and Seth Creasy (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) posted back-to-back wins at 157 and 165, but it wasn’t enough to spark the Bald Eagles.
The match started at 184 pounds and the Fighting Scots won the first seven bouts of the night. Edinboro took home eight of 10 bouts on the night and closed things out with a fall at 174.
Just over one minute into his bout with Casey Fuller at 157, Fry picked up the first Lock Haven takedown of the night after seven straight Edinboro wins. Fry led 2-1 after the first period and after starting down in the second, he scored on a reversal. Fry led 4-1 after two and held a 54 second advantage in riding time.
After starting the third period in the neutral position, Fry used a strong single leg to earn a quick takedown. Fry nearly rode out the third period to earn the hard-fought 7-2 (1:57 RT) win.
Creasy made it back-to-back wins for LHU after a dominating 4-0 win at 165.
With just six seconds left in the first period, Creasy scored on a takedown. Creasy started the second down, but quickly got to his feet and scored on a reversal. Edinboro’s Jesse Swink was tough on top in the third, but Creasy countered every move from the bottom and held on for the 4-0 win.
