Rehm wins 125-pound title at PSAC Championships; Bald Eagles fourth

ERIE, Pa. – Freshman Bobby Rehm (Lancaster, Pa./Penn Manor) took home the individual title at 125 pounds to highlight six Haven place winners as the Lock Haven University wrestling team took fourth overall at the 2011 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championships.

Rehm’s title helped the Bald Eagles to a fourth-place showing. Edinboro took home the team title with Bloomsburg and Clarion rounding out the top three teams.

Owen Wilkinson (Hartland, Mich./Hartland) and Harry Turner (Howell, N.J./Howell) both took second for The Haven.

Rehm was 3-0 on the way to the 125 title and he took down Bloomsburg’s Sean Boylan 5-3 in the championship bout.

Wilkinson took second overall after a 2-1 tournament. Wilkinson fell to Edinboro’s David Habat, the tournament’s top-seed at 141 (pin 5:32).

Turner was 2-1 on the day and fell to Edinboro’s Ernest James in the title-bout.

Seth Creasy (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) was solid for LHU at 165 and took third place after a 3-1 day.

Damien Hopper (Fr., Grove, Okla./Allentown Central Catholic) and John Trumbetti (Sr., Montvale, N.J./St. Joseph Regional) were fifth (141) and sixth (133), respectively.

The Bald Eagles will return home to host local rival and fifth-ranked Penn State on Sunday, December 18 (2 p.m.). The PSU dual will be The Haven’s last match before a break for the Holiday Season. LHU will return to action on Thursday, Dec. 29 as the Bald Eagles host the Mat Town Invitational.
