This week’s Adidas High School Wrestler of the Week, Ty Mills of Brownsburg, Indiana, was the 126 lb representative for Team Indiana at the Cliff Keen Dream Team Classic. Mills was trailing third-ranked Malik Johnson (Christian Brothers College, MO), a four-time Missouri state champion, 4-0 with about 40 seconds remaining in their match at Brownsburg High School Saturday night. Undeterred, Ty locked up a cradle, then turned and pinned Johnson at the 5:34 mark. He was one of only four wrestlers from Team Indiana to defeat their Dream Team counterparts. Mills’ fall helped pull the Hoosier state contingent within eight points of Team USA. Just a week ago at FloNationals, Mills advanced to the semi-finals, before falling to sixth place. During the high school season, Ty was a third-place finisher in one of Indiana’s toughest brackets. After losing in the semi-finals, Mills claimed third place by pinning 2017 state champion Alec Viduya (Roncalli, IN). Last fall, during the early signing period, Mills signed with Glen Lanham’s Duke Blue Devils.
Congratulations to Ty Mills TOM’s Adidas High School Wrestler of the Week!
