This week’s High School Wrestler of the Week, Drew Scharenbrock of Sun Prairie, Wisconsin earns the honor after winning a freestyle title at the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation State Championships at 145 lbs. Drew dominated the field winning his five matches by a combined score of 46-5, with one fall included. Though Scharenbrock had a sizeable margin of victory, his opponents were no slouches themselves. His semifinal opponent Sam Stuhl was a four-time Wisconsin state champion that has now signed to wrestle at North Dakota State. Drew cruised to the finals winning 12-1. In the championship match, Scharenbrock defeated his future University of Wisconsin teammate, Jeremy Schoenherr, also a four-time Wisconsin state champion, 14-3. During the high school season, Drew captured his second state title and finished the year with a perfect 51-0 record.
