2018 World Team Trials: Senior Men’s Freestyle Preview

This weekend, one of the biggest events of the domestic freestyle season takes place when the Senior World Team Trials convene in Rochester, Minnesota. Wrestlers at ten weight classes will compete for a chance to advance to Final X and a spot on the world team. Below is a breakdown of the wrestlers who will be competing at the trials, predictions, and the wrestler who will be waiting at Final X for the Trials winner.

Final X: Thomas Gilman June 9th Lincoln, Nebraska

Since this is a weight class with Thomas Gilman as a returning world medalist, Tony Ramos has advanced to the best-of-three championship series and will await the winner of the challenge tournament. Ramos won the US Open on the strength of a 2-2 criteria win over upstart Oklahoma State freshman Daton Fix.
