Five Unranked Stars of the Cadet Duals – Freestyle

This weekend in Spokane, Washington the freestyle portion of the Cadet Duals took place with Pennsylvania coming out on top for the first time since 2012. In addition to some intense dual meet competition, this event is annually a place for unknown or unranked wrestlers to prove themselves by getting multiple matches against the nation’s elite. Here are five unranked wrestlers that may not stay unranked after the performances that they put together at the Cadet Duals.

Gavin Carter (Kansas) - Before we get to Gavin Carter, the entire Team Kansas lineup and coaching should be commended for their performance this weekend. Kansas placed fifth in Cadet Freestyle knocking off Illinois, Missouri and Oklahoma, all states that typically outperform them on a national level.
