2017-18 Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) Preview – Part Two

EIWA Part Two

After 11 consecutive seasons of watching Cornell hoist the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association (EIWA) tournament trophy, there are some in the oldest wrestling conference in the NCAA that believe that run will finally end in 2018.  One of the founding members, Princeton, and the team who has won the title more often than any other, Lehigh, have designs on winning the tournament that has been contested every year since 1905.  The Mountain Hawks look to be the favorites heading into the season as they try to win their 35th conference crown.  Princeton wants to be the first team aside from Lehigh and Cornell to win since Harvard in 2001.  The Tigers haven’t been champions since 1978.  Through it all Cornell will try to survive heavy losses to their roster to keep right on winning when everyone gets together at Hofstra for the 114th EIWA Wrestling Championships.  The largest wrestling conference in Division I has plenty of storylines to follow in addition to the team race.  2017-18 should be another fascinating season.

Yesterday, we broke down the first eight teams in the EIWA.  Today, we walk through the final eight.

Join us now as we break down each team’s projected lineup, top returners, impact wrestlers, and what we see for them in the coming year.
