When Missouri joined the Mid-American Conference (MAC), competing in the 2013 MAC tournament before becoming a full member the next season, they immediately became the strongest team in the conference. They've taken every conference tournament title since. Before Missouri, Central Michigan ruled the roost, winning 11 MAC tournament crowns in succession. You have to go back to 2001, when Ohio claimed top honors, to find the last team neither the Tigers nor the Chippewas lifted the trophy. With Northern Iowa leaving for the Big 12, those two look like the teams to beat once again, though Missouri is a strong favorite to win yet again. The rest of the league, which includes Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Northern Illinois, Ohio, and Old Dominion, will be working to catch them. There are several programs on that list that appear to be moving in the right direction, though a couple may take a step back this season after losing a lot from last year's roster. Central Michigan hosts the 2018 MAC Championships, March 3rd and 4th.
