It is time to start rolling out the Top 10 Previews for this upcoming Division II wrestling season. I cannot wait for the season to start and there is no better way to make sure you know what to expect from the contenders than a way too early look at what their lineup might be. Big thank you to the coaches who were so great with information.
Head coach James Kisgen returns four All-Americans and six national qualifiers to a team that finished third at the 2018-19 NCAA Division II national tournament. Can you believe there are people out there overlooking this squad’s chances to bring home hardware again? Kisgen is the architect behind their success having piloted this program since its creation 16 seasons ago. The lineup will have at least five seniors and could sport as many as seven. There will be plenty of experience and firepower in this lineup. The Bearcats also picked up a big man from Division I Northern Illinois. Caleb Gossett transferred this offseason and will finish his career in his home state after starting for the Huskies the last three years. He is a very good transfer grab for a team that was looking for a big man. McKendree graduated their national champion, Michael Pixley as well as fifth-place finisher Isaiah Kemper. Those are big points that will need to be replaced for the Bearcats to challenge for a team title.
