Just like that, we’re entering the eighth season for Pat Popolizio as the head man at NC State. In that time the Wolfpack have gone from a team that struggled to compete year-in and year-out in the ACC, to a program that consistently produces All-Americans and even won an NCAA team trophy two years ago. After a dip down to 17th place in 2018-19, will the Wolfpack be ready to contend for a trophy this year? Well, Popolizio’s squad features two All-Americans and three others with NCAA experience. Now add in some redshirt freshmen that were an integral part of NC State’s sixth-ranked recruiting Class of 2018 and you have a very promising team for 2019-20. If that isn’t enough, take a second look at the projected starters and you’ll notice that there isn’t a single senior in the bunch. That means we could see an even more imposing team in the 2020-21 season. The Wolfpack staff continues to hit the recruiting trail hard and has an incoming class of freshmen that were eighth in the nation this spring, so they’re not stopping anytime soon! So watch out ACC and watch out around the country and take a look at the NC State Wolfpack for 2019-20.
