2019-20 Early Lineup Look: North Carolina

Throughout the next few weeks and months, we will be examining potential lineups for DI teams in the 2019-20 season. We’ll start with the Tar Heels of North Carolina. Coleman Scott will be starting his fifth season as the head man in Chapel Hill. UNC is fresh off of a 19th place finish at the 2019 NCAA Championships, it’s highest since 1995. Two Tar Heel wrestlers earned All-American honors and six others qualified for the tournament. North Carolina will return an experienced squad that features seven wrestlers that have made the trip to nationals at one point in their careers. Years of strong recruiting under Scott has started to produce depth that will become evident in the upcoming season. Depending on how their actual lineup shakes out, UNC could have the possibility of at least two former qualifiers sitting on the bench.

Here is an early weight-by-weight look at the North Carolina lineup and I stress the word EARLY! As we get closer to the preseason, we’ll have a better idea of which student-athletes will be changing weights.
