Two Fridays ago we headed out went to talk Fresno State wrestling, now we’re back in Pac-12 country to preview the returning conference champion Stanford Cardinal. Head Coach Jason Borrelli’s team was able to call themselves Pac-12 champions for the first time in school history after edging conference power, Arizona State, by just two points. Two Stanford wrestlers came away from the meet as Pac-12 champions. Even though Palo Alto provides one of the most beautiful campuses in the country normally, the forecast has to be extra sunny for the 2019-20 wrestling season. All five of Stanford’s national qualifiers from Pittsburgh return and will be paired with two of the best redshirt freshmen in the nation, not to mention an incoming recruiting class that was ranked #22 in the country. Borrelli and staff have done such a good job building their program that none of the recruiting Class of 2019 appear to be needed to start right away, or at least at this point in time. This high-powered group will attempt to put an end to a small, two-year streak without an All-American. Also, with a talented team at Arizona State looking for payback, things could get awfully interesting during the school's dual meet and at the Pac-12 Championships. Here’s what to expect for the Stanford Cardinal in the 2019-20 season:
