This is shaping up to be one of the best Super Regionals to watch this year. It looks like a heavyweight title fight is brewing between sixth-ranked McKendree and ninth-ranked Lindenwood. McKendree won their dual meeting on total team points criteria this season and you know that Lindenwood head coach Jimmy Rollins would love his revenge to come on his home campus. I expect that fans to be rowdy at Robert Hyland Arena and with the incredible wrestling they will be witnessing, they should be.
This tournament is absolutely loaded with talent. Eight different wrestling squads are ranked in the top 25*. There is plenty of individual talent as well; I count 24 wrestlers that are currently sitting in the top 12 of their respective weight classes. Even more, telling is 12 of those are top five wrestlers and two of them are ranked number one in the country. There is a lot of great wrestling to be had in Super Regional IV this season and I think it could come down to the heavyweight matchup between Lucas Diener (McKendree) and Courvoisier Morrow (Lindenwood).
Dive in and follow along as I look at each weight class and predict the three wrestlers who will advance and the first wrestler out at each weight. As always, a huge thank you to Wrestlestat and their fledgling d2.wrestlestat.com site for help digging through records.
