2020-21 Preseason DII Pound-for-Pound Rankings

The wrestling season is just around the corner (we will allow no naysayers here) and since that is the case, it is time for my first pound-for-pound rankings. Much like last year, the preseason P4P will begin and end with those currently ranked at the top of each weight class. As the season progresses, we could see multiple athletes at a weight ranked, but to avoid muddying the waters so early, I am focusing on our preseason number ones. This year is made all the more difficult by the lack of a national tournament to end the 2020 season. There are familiar names from last year, including our new number one. Lindenwood University is the only program with two in the top-10. Heath Gray (Central Oklahoma) and Andrew Dunn (Kutztown) continue their stay amongst the best that began with the inaugural rankings more than a year ago. There are new faces as well, but this ranking is full of upperclassmen. It would not surprise me to see a sophomore or a redshirt freshman break into these this season, but they will have to get past some tested athletes.

I will act under the assumption that for now, the PSAC athletes from the likes of Pitt-Johnstown and Kutztown will have a season. Or, at the very least, they will figure out a way to participate in the postseason. For now, they remain in the rankings and, therefore, in my P4P.
