BLOOMSBURG—Bloomsburg University wrestler Bryce Busler (Mechanicsburg/Cumberland Valley) has been named the Eastern Wrestling League (EWL) Wrestler of the Week for the period ending Nov. 10.

Busler was named the Outstanding Wrestler and won the 149-pound weight class at the Brockport/Oklahoma Invitational to earn the honor.

Busler started his day by registering two technical falls. The first was against Connor Melde of Army by a score of 16-0, and the second came against John Crast of Brockport, 16-1. In his semi-final bout, Busler majored Oklahoma University’s Dryden Dennis 9-0. In the championship final Busler faced the Sooner’s 2013 NCAA champion Kendric Maple. Busler was behind 3-1 in the second period of that bout, but pushed the action and gained two stalling points against Maple to send the match into overtime. In the overtime Busler registered a takedown to score the upset victory.

The Huskies finished second as a team at the event and will be back in action on Friday visiting Lehigh starting at 7 p.m.
