Across the country wrestlers at all levels are preparing for the upcoming season, continuing to put in hard work, in many cases, long before their first competition. At the college level, this includes athletes across many divisions from the three under the umbrella of the NCAA, the NAIA, the NJCAA, the NCWA, the WCWA, and the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) whose season has already begun. Today we take a look at the NCAA's Division II with a quick rundown of the top five teams from the 2017 national tournament, followed by a look at the returning All-Americans at each weight.
In March, Notre Dame College (OH) got back on top in dominant fashion, establishing a 36.5 point winning margin over two-time defending champions St. Cloud State (MN), who finished as the runner-up. It was the Falcons who took the 2014 Division II national title as well before the Huskies won in 2015 and 2016. California Baptist, Nebraska-Kearney, and McKendree rounded out the top five.
