ITHACA â€” The No. 12-ranked Missouri wrestling team rattled off five consecutive down-to-the-wire decisions Sunday to close out a come-from-behind 18-14 dual-meet victory over No. 2 Cornell at Newman Arena.
Tigers heavyweight Dominique Bradley delivered the decisive blow in the meet’s last match, using an escape at the beginning of the third period and 1 minute, 56 seconds of riding time to secure a 2-0 decision over Cornell’s Zach Hammond.
Missouri’s Max Askren won the previous match at 197 pounds with a 4-3 decision over the Big Red’s Cam Simaz on the strength of riding time to give the Tigers their first lead of the match, 15-14.
Just before that at 184, Missouri’s Dorian Henderson earned a takedown of Cornell’s Justin Kerber with 15 seconds left to lock up a 3-2 decision.
The Big Red started strong and took a 14-3 lead heading into the halftime break.
All-American Troy Nickerson (125) started the match with a technical fall over Troy Dolan. Mike Grey (133), D.J. Meagher (149) and Jordan Leen (157) earned the other decisions for Cornell.
