Sacred Heart releases 2013-14 schedule

Fairfield, CT – Sacred Heart University head wrestling coach Andy Lausier announced the Pioneers upcoming 2013-14 schedule. For the second straight season, SHU will open their season at the Binghamton Open on November 10th. Coach Lausier will be beginning his second full season at the helm of SHU wrestling.

Sacred Heart’s schedule this season is extremely similar to last season in terms of invitationals and opponents but one key difference is the addition of four more home matches for the Pioneers this year. Last season, SHU only hosted two matches. Sacred Heart will open their home schedule on January 5th, when they play host to the Virginia Military Institute. The Pioneers will also host Rider on January 25th, Brown on January 26th, Bucknell on February 9th, and American and Princeton on February 16th.

Besides the Binghamton Open, SHU will also participate in the ESU Open on November 17th, the Journeyman Northeast Duals on November 30th, the Wilkes Open on December 29th, the Franklin and Marshall Open on January 17th, and the Mid-Penn Duals on January 18th.

Sacred Heart’s only two away dual matches will be at Boston University on December 7th and at Franklin and Marshall on January 17th.

SHU will wrestle in the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association Championships on March 7th and 8th at the University of Pennsylvania.

This year’s NCAA Championships are held on March 20th through the 22nd in Oklahoma City, OK.
