Since we’ve hit the unofficial halfway point of the college wrestling season (the New Year), it’s time to look back at what transpired during the first two-plus months of the season. One of the first items to check out is how the freshman have fared. It seems like every year, a new crop of youngsters hit the mat and we’re impressed enough to think they are more prepared for early success than in years past (I agree). So, who has had the initial success thus far? We’ve narrowed it down to 15 freshmen who have caught our eye in the first half of the 2019-20 season.
***Disclaimer*** This is based on the performances from November-January 9th. There are some freshmen that we “suspect” will have great years, but as of now, we have not seen much from them. A few notables include Jordan Decatur (Ohio State), Aaron Brooks, and Seth Nevills (Penn State).
