The 2018-19 NCAA DI season showed that the future of college wrestling is very bright based off of its crop of freshman. Some of the most anticipated debuts in years took place this season. One freshman was able to capture an NCAA title, while another was in the national finals, and four were able to place in the top three of their respective weight classes. Most seasons the top freshmen will be isolated to the Big Ten; however this year they were spread equally. Three members of our first team came from the EIWA, while two came from both the ACC and Big 12. Of course, the remaining three did come from the B1G. Also in looking at the ten wrestlers who comprise our first team, seven of them were team members on the Junior World Team last summer. So without any further explanation, meet the members for TOM’s All-Freshman team for the 2018-19 season, along with a second-team which have been listed, as well.
