Today TOM spoke with Bucknell head coach Dan Wirnsberger about all-things Bucknell wrestling. We hit on their impressive recruiting class which includes three Pennsylvania state champions, the ever-improving EIWA conference and who to watch for from the Bison in 2020-21. That season will be Wirnsberger’s 16th in Lewisburg and he is the only head coach for Bucknell since their program was reinstated in 2005. We also discussed the state of collegiate athletics and the that endowments play in a wrestling program. Finally, we get into the freshman year of high school for Dan’s son, Cade, who was ranked #1 in the state heading into the postseason, but was not able to qualify for the always-difficult PA state tournament. Cade did pick up two wins over the eventual state champion and had wins over three separate state medalists for Meadowbrook Christian. All of that and much more..
