TOM’s Quarant-Interview with Campbell Assistant Coach Daryl Thomas

Just a day after the news was official, new Campbell assistant coach Daryl Thomas joined TOM to talk about his whirlwind of a month. Thomas was part of an Old Dominion staff that was blindsided by the administration who discontinued the program on April 2nd. Daryl gives us insight into how he found out about the ODU news and his interaction with the athletic director, Wood Selig, in the time that ensued. While at ODU, Thomas helped assemble a recruiting class that would have likely landed a place in the top-ten nationally. Daryl goes into what makes a good recruiter and how to do so at a school that falls outside of the Big Ten or Big 12. At Campbell, Thomas will reunite with Wynn Michalak and work for the first time with new head coach Scotti Sentes. Though Thomas in Sentes were in the same 133 lb NCAA bracket during the 2012-13 season, they did not meet each other (we checked). At Campbell, Thomas and the rest of the staff will work with a recruiting class that was ranked 10th in the nation by TOM and has brand-new, state-of-the-art facilities. Find out more about one of the rising stars in the coaching ranks as we spoke with Daryl Thomas.
