Over the last week, the spring recruiting season has begun to turn it up a notch. Here are eleven of the notable wrestlers that have recently committed to DI schools and how they fit into the lineup of their respective schools. In this edition, we will discuss wrestlers committed to Cal Poly, Fresno State, Maryland, Minnesota, NC State, Nebraska, Ohio State, South Dakota State, and Stanford.

Jaden Abas, Rancho Bernardo, CA - Committed to Stanford

This week, Jaden Abas announced that he would stay in-state to continue his wrestling career at Stanford. Abas recently won his first California state championship and is the fourth-ranked wrestler in the Class of 2019. In the 2017-18 season, Jaden won a title at the Doc Buchanan and was a runner-up at both the Walsh Ironman and Super 32. Abas appears to project as a collegiate 149 lber which would fill a need for the Cardinal. Requir van der Merwe opened the season as Stanford’s starter, yet Jake Barry finished the season in the lineup for the Pac-12 Championships and did not qualify for NCAA’s. Jaden has the talent that will make him a game-changer for Coach Borrelli at whichever weight he chooses.
