Friday afternoon one of the top available recruits from the Class of 2019 made his college intentions public. Kyle Burwick (Hettinger, ND), the 33rd overall senior, has given a verbal commitment to Wisconsin. Burwick shot up the rankings this summer after going 7-0 at the Junior National Freestyle Duals. At that event, he defeated California runner-up Ryan Franco and National Prep champ Chris Cannon. He followed that up with an equally impressive performance in Fargo, taking fourth place at the 126 lb weight class in Junior freestyle. Kyle will be aiming to win his fifth North Dakota state title this school year.
Burwick is the fourth top 100 recruit from the Class of 2019 to commit to Chris Bono’s Badger squad. He joins Eric Barnett (Hortonville, WI), Peter Christensen (Montini Catholic, IL), and Joshua Otto (Arrowhead, WI). With Barnett, currently, a 120 lber, aboard it would appear that Burwick would project as a 133 lber for Wisconsin. The 2019 Recruiting Class, Bono’s first full recruiting class, is turning out to be quite imposing.
