Five Breakout Performances from the 2020 Journeymen Fall Classic

Like so many other events in and outside of the wrestling world in 2020, the Journeymen Fall Classic had to make some slight changes in order to hold their event this past weekend. Instead of the traditional location in New York, the event had to move down to Manheim, Pennsylvania, to operate. Even so, that didn’t seem to affect the level of competition as top wrestlers from around the nation gathered to battle for bragging rights and a hammer. Very fitting award considering the number of hammers that entered the event. While some weight classes were won by favorites, we have identified five champions that had a serious breakthrough that will help their rankings nationally and among their respective classes. None of these five wrestlers had the same situation, as one recently signed with a DI school, while another is just a freshman. All four high school grades are represented and geographically, a couple of traditional hotbeds are mentioned along with the southeast and New England. So, here are the five breakthrough performances from the Journeymen Fall Classic in 2020.
