Five Matches to Watch at Blair Academy vs. Wyoming Seminary

Friday night, the biggest dual meet of the high school season occurs when Wyoming Seminary travels to Blair Academy. The consensus top-two teams in the nation will square off in a dual that will, not only, decide the number one ranking, but also provide fans with an early look at perhaps a few National Prep finals. Both teams compete at the National Prep level so they will also meet in that tournament, which takes place February 21st and 22nd from the campus of Lehigh University. These two teams have already done battle in tournament action at the Ironman, where Wyoming Seminary came out on top by a 45.5 margin. The Blue Knight crowned three champions while Blair had two. It should be noted that two of Blair Academy’s top grapplers were out of action for that tournament, as well as, the Beast of the East, so this will be the first premier event with the Bucs ideal lineup.

As is usually the case with high school wrestling, especially with teams as deep as Blair and Sem, there could be plenty of shuffling of weights, which makes weight-by-weight predictions difficult and sometimes irrelevant. So, with that in mind, here are five must-watch potential matchups for the dual of the year.

How to watch: The match will be broadcasted on Wyoming Seminary head coach Scott Green’s Rokfin page.

106 lbs - #2 Marc-Anthony McGowan (Blair Academy) vs. Brandon Cannon / Daniel Sheen (Wyoming Seminary)
