This week’s High School Wrestler of the Week is Luca Frinzi of Bethlehem Catholic of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. Frinzi, who is currently unranked by figures to change that this week, had himself a fantastic tournament over the weekend. The senior won the 160-pound division of the Escape The Rock tournament at Council Rock South High School in Pennsylvania. Frinzi went 5-0 in the tournament with two falls and two wins over ranked wrestlers. In the semifinals, he took out No. 13 Clayton Ulrey. In that match, he was trailing 3-2 with time running out and picked up a takedown and three nearfall points with under five seconds remaining to advance to finals. In the finals against No. 9 Thayne Lawrence, a returning Pennsylvania state champion, Frinzi once again struck late. Tied at 1-1 with under 30 seconds remaining he got the match-winning takedown and pulled out a 3-2 victory. Last season, as a junior, Luca was seventh in the state. Frinzi will continue his wrestling career for Pat Santoro at Lehigh University.

Congratulations to Luca Frinzi, TOM’s High School Wrestler of the Week
