This week’s High School Wrestler of the Week, Tyler Dow of Stoughton, Wisconsin earned the honor after winning the Junior Greco-Roman World Team Trials at 72kg in Indianapolis, Indiana. The win has given Down a berth on his first Junior world team. Tyler’s championship at the Junior US Open gave him a bye to face the winner of Friday’s challenge tournament in a best-of-three finals series. Dow only needed two matches to defeat Princeton’s Lenny Merkin 10-0 and 9-4. Tyler is one of only three high schoolers who made the 2018 Junior Greco world team. During the high school season, Dow was a Wisconsin state runner-up, after winning a title his junior season. Last summer Dow finished as a runner-up in Junior Freestyle and Greco while wrestling in Fargo. He will continue his wrestling career at the University of Wisconsin, where he signed last November.
Congratulations to Tyler Dow TOM’s High School Wrestler of the Week
