In the championship match Omania, a Cadet Greco-Roman World Team member in 2016, took out returning Junior Greco-Roman World Team member in the University of Oklahoma’s Dom Demas. After falling behind by six points, Peyton stormed back with a pair of throws, the second a five-pointer, to take the lead heading into the second period. A late throw and gut wrench sealed the victory for Omania 18-10. Peyton’s US Open championship has given him a bye to the best-of-three finals of the Junior World Team Trials June 8th in Indianapolis, Indiana. During his high school season, Omania took home the gold medal at 145 lbs in the CIF (California) State Championships.
