The Open Mat’s High School Wrestler of the Week Award goes to Tyler Stoltzfus of St. Joseph’s Catholic Academy in Boalsburg, Pennsylvania. Stoltzfus, the No. 7-ranked wrestler in the nation at 170 pounds, went 5-0 over the weekend to take home the championship in a loaded field at Powerade. He started his tournament with a fall and then a major decision in the opening two rounds. In the quarterfinals, he picked up a 1-0 win over Fargo All-American Mac Stout. He then knocked off defending PA state champion and fifth-ranked Trey Kibe 4-3 in the semifinals. Then, in the finals, he earned a 5-2 victory over New Jersey state runner-up Shane Reitsma, who had beaten No. 6 Lenny Pinto and No. 16 Connor O’Neill to reach the finals. Stoltzfus is a senior and is committed to wrestle for nearby Lock Haven in college.

Congratulations to Tyler Stoltzfus, TOM’s High School Wrestler of the Week.
