Paulsboro wrestler Ronnie Gentile commits to Rutgers

Ronnie Gentile’s wrestling goals most of his life were to win a state title and compete in college at the highest level.

Heading into his senior season, the Paulsboro High School standout can be content with the knowledge he has achieved both goals. Gentile won the 138-pound state title as a junior last year and recently made his college commitment to wrestle at Rutgers, which will begin competing in the Big 10 Conference this season.

“It’s close to home, about an hour way and with the Big 10, it’s going to be really good for recruiting,” said Gentile. “I’ve been there a couple times and I went there for their Junior Day. There’s a lot of Jersey kids there already. That whole South Plainfield team basically from a couple years ago just finished their freshman year.
