Tonight one of the top uncommitted recruits in the nation, 21st overall Ridge Lovett (Post Falls, ID) announced his college intentions via social media. Lovett has given a verbal commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. The Idaho native’s stock drastically improved this summer after winning a title at Junior Folkstyle Nationals and then following that up with a runner-up finish at the Junior National Freestyle event in Fargo. In Junior Freestyle, Lovett picked up wins over Dylan D’Emilio and Beau Bartlett, among others. He is currently ranked third in the nation at 132 lbs. Before his commitment Ridge was the third highest ranked recruit available, among wrestlers from the Class of 2019.
Lovett will join a Cornhusker recruiting class that includes fellow blue-chip recruit Kevon Davenport (Detroit Central Catholic, MI), who is the 15th ranked senior in the nation. Ridge projects as a 133 lber which appears to be a need for the Cornhuskers down the road.
