Last week the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida hosted the AAU Scholastic Duals, commonly known as the Disney Duals. There was no Disney-style underdog story in the All-Star division, as MAWA Knight Point Blue dominated the field. The team was comprised mainly of wrestlers from Pennsylvania, but two wrestlers from New Jersey and one from New York were also aboard. The team went a perfect 10-0 over the two-day event, outscoring its competition 640 to 43. MAWA Knight Point Blue only lost one individual match the entire tournament. Forfeits accounted for the remaining team points. This was the fourth straight year that the team has made the finals in the All-Star division, one time coming away with the title and twice falling to a Young Guns squad. This season Young Guns did not send a team.

The All-Star final saw MAWA Knight Point Blue dismantle CFWA South Florida Lightning 44-3. The Florida team featured a handful of wrestlers from Lake Highland Prep. Despite the lopsided score, there were six matches in the dual meet that were decided by two points or less. Unfortunately for CFWA South Florida Lightning, all of the bouts went MAWA Knight Point Blue’s way. Rising high school freshman Nic Bouzakis accounted for the only CFWA South Florida Lightning win, as he defeated two-time Pennsylvania state champion Jaret Lane 6-3.

Pay attention for MAWA Knight Point Blue’s wrestlers at the collegiate level, as a large group of them have already committed or signed with DI powerhouses; Penn State (Adam Busiello and Michael Beard), Ohio State (Quinn Kinner and Gavin Hoffman), Rutgers (Jojo Aragona), Lehigh (Lane) and Pittsburgh (Ryan Sullivan).
