These Ten Wrestlers Missed Placing at the 2017 Ironman, Yet Had a Great 2017-18

This weekend the toughest in-season high school tournament, the Walsh Ironman, take place. There are plenty of articles about the history of the event and how it’s champions and placewinners have gone on to achieve great accomplishments at the collegiate and international level. However, on the other end of the spectrum, tons of studs miss placing in the top eight each year. Placing at the Ironman is not the be all, end all for most of these studs. There are plenty of wrestlers who do not place at this tournament yet go on to have great seasons. Here are ten wrestlers that missed the podium at the 2017 Ironman, yet thrived during their high school seasons or in the offseason.
