Late Tuesday night Cohlton Schultz, the top recruit in the Class of 2019, made his college intentions public. He has given a verbal commitment to wrestle for Zeke Jones’ Arizona State Sun Devils. Schultz is the top-ranked 285 lber in the country and has won three Colorado state championships for Ponderosa High School. In this 2017-18 season, he solidified that ranking by defeating four-time California state champion Seth Nevills in the Doc Buchanan Invitational finals. Last summer Cohlton became the first US wrestler since 1997 to win a Cadet world championship in Greco-Roman. So far this year Schultz has made both the Junior and U23 world teams for Greco. There was speculation that he may forego DI wrestling to concentrate solely on Greco.  The Sun Devils current heavyweight, Tanner Hall, is entering his senior season, so they had a huge void to fill at 285 lbs.

For Schultz’s commitment and all others see TOM’s college commitment page.
