2019 Cadet Men’s Freestyle World Team Trials Preview and Predictions

A whole ton of talent will roll into the Louis and Freda Stile Athletic Field House on the campus of Akron University this weekend looking for a world team spot. The site will, as it does each year, host men's Cadet World Team Trials as well as U23 Men’s World Team Trials in both freestyle and Greco.

Our first preview will focus on the Cadet Men's freestyle tournament.

The 2018 Cadet world team was as follows:

45kg: Chance Lamer

48kg: Richie Figueroa

51kg: Matt Ramos

55kg: Robbie Howard

60kg: Josh Saunders

65kg: Carson Manville

71kg: Alex Facundo

80kg: Abe Assad

92kg: AJ Ferrari

110kg: Daniel Kerkvliet

This year, the fields are as stacked as ever and the top competitors have earned separation points through seeding criteria over the course of the last year.

Those criteria are, in weighted order:

Former Cadet World Medalists

Fargo/Akron Finalists

FloNationals Finalists

Akron/Fargo/FloNationals place winners

Akron/Fargo/FloNationals Greco 1st-3rd
